The incidence of diabetes mellitus (DM) is in constant increase worldwide. It concerns more developing countries, especially African countries, where in recent decades there is an alarming progression of the incidence of diabetes, due to factors such as urbanization and lifestyle changes. Our aim was to study clinical and epidemiological characteristics of diabetes in the regions of the Congo.Patients and Method: We analyzed prospectively clinical and epidemiological characteristics of patients with diabetes seen in the regions of the Republic of the Congo from 2013 to 2016. The analysis was done using Epi info 7.2.1.0 Results: 366 diabetic patients, 208 men (57%) and 158 women (43%) were included,7.4% of them were newly screened. 95.35% were treated as outpatients. The mean age was 55.3 u00b1 13.16 [ range 14 to 95], and the mean duration in patients with known diabetes was 48.05 months [1-396 months].
